I recently read the following quote from Tom Peters:
“An organization, no matter how technologically transformed, is at the end of the day no more/no less than PEOPLE SERVING PEOPLE. (And as a leader, your job is: SERVE THE PEOPLE WHO SERVE THE PEOPLE.) (One last thing – The people we serve are our Customers AND our Communities.)”
I think it reminds us that as managing partners our main responsibility is to be focused on the talented people working at our firms.
Client service partners can, and should, focus on serving clients. The managing partner, as leader, serves all people – even the other partners – who are serving people.
